Contemporary Music Festival

This event aims to create a venue for performance of non-traditional music. A Musical Arts/Performance Festival of everything that is current and exciting today and non-traditional if desired: Compositions can include any or all of the following: multimedia, improvisation, experimentation, jazz, film music, recent compositions, concert music/art music. The music can be inspired from the classical tradition, pop, jazz, rock, or any fusions thereof. Any and all instrumental and vocal combinations are encouraged.

Students can also perform their own pieces: (solo & ensemble), pieces by their friends or pieces by present day musicians or musical groups. Total time limit per teacher’s studio is 12 minutes. Suggested CM Level is Level 4 and up.

Really anything is possible as long as it can be performed in a concert space typical of MTAC events. Please refrain from any politically driven content or statements. Teachers and colleagues are also invited and encouraged to perform if they are interested!
