The Music Teachers’ Association of California West Los Angeles Branch is a diverse group of devoted and talented music educators, dedicated to the promotion of musical culture and the pursuit of excellence in the field of music education.
As one of over 50 self-governing, affiliated branches of the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC), the West Los Angeles Branch was founded in 1954 as a non-profit organization under section 501(c)(6). Our members specialize in the study, and performance and teaching of various disciplines, including but not limited to, classical, jazz and contemporary or popular music. All members have received extensive musical training and include graduates of some of the most prestigious conservatories and universities world-wide. Our professional teachers are engaged in crafting the future of the musical community through our distinctive instruction. Our branch provides many program and performance opportunities. In addition, MTAC WLA provides teacher collaboration and enrichment through educational workshops as well as teacher recitals.
The Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC) is a statewide professional organization of over 4,000 members. Since 1897, MTAC has dedicated its efforts towards the pursuit of excellence in music education. The mission of the MTAC is the establishment of excellence in the music teaching profession through high standards for membership, strong ethical values, and the continuation of musical education by its members to cultivate personal, professional, and artistic excellence.
