Red and Gold Seal Solo Recitals

CHAIR: Nancy Arnold
DATE: Ongoing
LOCATION: Various
REGISTRATION: Open year round

The Red and Gold Seal Solo Recitals give students a non-competitive stage to perform repertoire of their choosing, broadening their repertoire and improving performance skills.

Together with their teacher, students prepare a 15-minute or a 30-minute memorized program. In addition to the teacher of the performing student, two MTAC West Los Angeles Branch member teachers must be in attendance to witness the recital. Students will receive the Red Seal certification for successfully performing a 15-minute program and the Gold Seal certification for a 30-minute program.

The student and teacher will organize the recital including repertoire, date, time, venue, printed programs, tuning, and invitations. The venue may be in the student’s or teacher’s home or a more formal location. After the program is organized, it is the responsibility of the teacher to arrange with two MTAC West Los Angeles Branch teachers to attend and award the official certificate at the conclusion of the program.

There are no restrictions on the repertoire. Solo pieces must be memorized. Ensemble pieces need not be memorized. Any student of an MTAC West Los Angeles Branch teacher is eligible to participate. There is no participation fee for this program; however, the student is responsible for all expenses incurred in presenting the recital.

Teachers must be logged in to view the student registration instructions and to access the registration form below.
